Graph Products

Like the product of two numbers, say 5 and 20, can be interpreted as five of twenty or twenty of five, the Cartesian product of two graphs A and B, A □ B, can be thought of as an A of Bs or a B of As.

Inspired by thie big illustration in Sayama (2017). This project got me thinking about what kinds of interactive text would be possible with reusable, interacting matrix and graph elements. I picked a nice old textbook to try that out on, and these projects ended up setting up the style of most of the visualizations I did in grad school.

Click on the factor matrices to change them. Click the □ operator to see the tensor product A ✕ B and the strong product A ☒ B.
